It’s that time of year again! Shopping for Christmas gifts can be tricky so we have complied a long list of ideas to help you this holiday season.
** Follow us on Instagram for the full list of items to each category listed below** We know first-hand how hard it can be to come up with different educational and fun toys or activities for our kids to enjoy year after year especially as they get older. This year we've decided to divide our gift guide into 5 major categories.
Part 1: Games Playing games with family and friends have so many benefits. It helps with fine motor skills, memory formation. cognitive skills, social skills, turn taking and patience. Part 2: Toys Purchasing a toy for any child can be overwhelming but purchasing a toy for a child with additional needs can also be tricky. Here are a couple of tips we’ve learned on the way…
Part 3: Educational Items As parents we LOVE educational toys but our kids sometimes not so much. However, we think we found some really cool items that both parents & kids will love. Part 4: Puzzles and incredible books. Puzzles and books are enjoyable activities that can be enjoyed with kids of all ages. Puzzles help develop the brain. The process of figuring out where each piece belongs encourages focus and creativity while also improving memory and critical thinking skills – making them terrific tools for learning! Reading books are also very important as they help develop thoughts, provide endless knowledge and lessons while keeping minds active. There are many books out there that teach a child that being different is beautiful and okay. They not only help to develop social skills, language, and reading comprehension but allow the reader to see themselves being represented in the story. These books are also a perfect tool to read with and to siblings and friends to teach empathy and understanding. Part 5: Tweens & Teens – OH MY! The older they get the harder it is to shop for them. Our advice stick to items that help them develop their skills while incorporating new items that they can explore and items that you know they will LOVE. For a detailed list of all the items we recommend each category listed above follow us on Instagram @2getherwerbetter. Happy Shopping! |
